Welcome to Holy Cross Church

Holy Week Sunday, March 25 - Sunday April 1

3/25 Palm Sunday

8am & 10am “Hosannah in the highest!”...“Away with him!” Liturgy of the Palms, Passion Reading, Holy Eucharist. Find your voice in the crowd as you reenact the holy drama: Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem followed by his betrayal, arrest, condemnation, and passion. (Childcare at 10am)

3/29 Maundy Thursday

6pm “What makes this night different from all other nights?” Everyone can participate in this family-friendly Seder dinner, passing the mic to tell the story of the Passover, tossing onions, feasting, and searching for the hidden mahtza. On the 4th cup of Elijah, we celebrate Communion as on the night Jesus “Christ, our Passover was sacrificed for us.” After dinner we enter the church for the Stripping of the Altar to symbolize how we deserted Jesus at his arrest. A very moving holy drama. (children sit with parents.) Limited seating: Reserve Your Ticket

3/30 Good Friday

Noon & 7pm “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Walk the Way singing Taize chants; meditation through the fourteen Stations of the Cross. Solemn charcoal sketches by Heather Olsen, who grew up in this parish. (No childcare.)

4/1 Easter Day - Jesus is Nobody’s Fool

7:30am “Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week...” We approach the dreaded tomb and find it empty. Christ is Risen, Alleluia!

9:00am “The is the feast of Victory for our God, Alleluia!” Holy Eucharist, Choir, childcare.

10:15am Potluck Brunch It’s the feeding of the five thousand all over again! Easter Egg Hunt for the children.

11:15am “The is the feast of Victory for our God, Alleluia!” Holy Eucharist, Choir, childcare.

Directions to Holy Cross

You may be thinking, “their website has low production values.” True. The emphasis of Holy Cross is the people; in community; loved by Jesus. All week long we hustle to dazzle and produce, to keep the global competition from taking us down. Church does not need to be more of the same.

We invite you to take a deep breath, let down your guard, step out of the rat race. Come as you are to worship the Lord.

“Thanks for the warm welcome at service. I agree with your statement on your web page - great people in your parish, very special indeed.” ~ Clark, recent visitor
